Our first Thinking Residency was in January 2016. We invited India Hobson and Magnus Edmonson who are Haarkon to spend time out at Harp Cottage. Read about their stay here :
Harp Cottage in Powys, Wales
Harp Cottage is self-catering holiday accommodation, nestled in a Welsh hillside near Presteigne, just north of the Wye valley.
We arrived as the light was fading and were met by a pre-lit fire and a our lovely, warm host Justine. She introduced us to the ins and outs of the 17th-century cottage and we were left to explore the white-washed walls on our own.
Sleeping 5 (in 3 bedrooms) we had ample space though it didn’t feel as though we were rattling around – the very opposite in fact. We felt that the interiors were incredibly inviting and intimate and as we admired the sympathetic modernisation of the place, we felt ready to relax.
Our favourite aspect of the cottage was the way that – even in a Welsh winter, the light chose to show us different features and seemed to be just as quiet as the world outside. It served as a beautifully still retreat from the wet and wild outside our door and we think it’s a brilliant place to base an adventure should you wish to explore the hills beyond.
